About
for Just Johnny
I caught the bug for self–employment while freelancing during my college years, but upon my transition from academia I felt it was more realistic to forestall such inclinations in favor of employment that could provide greater stability than a freshly degreed student might be able to achieve.
As the years passed, dreams of providing my own means remained shelved; easier thought about than acted upon when working 60–80 hours a week. Nevertheless, ruminations about running my own small business continued unabated and in 2007, I founded Just Johnny LLC to place myself in a state of readiness.
Just Johnny unsurprisingly languished, existing only in name, as I busily worked around the clock, over weekends, and through holidays. I could have worked less, but the divestiture of time from those I worked for, directly and indirectly, was an ethical boundary that seemed best not to cross.
In the summer of 2009, amidst macroeconomic turmoil, the implosion of my employer, and unemployment encroaching on double digits (United States), I found myself caught in a net of workforce reduction. Afforded the opportunity to spend more time with my neglected 2–year old, Just Johnny finally debuted on the Web.
Despite the winding path, my 11 years traversing it were not wasted time and effort. The experience I gained working in an assortment of industries on various projects strengthened my business and technical acumens, which now pays dividends to those I now give heed - the clients of Just Johnny.
The motive for wanting to strike out on my own was once born out of solely personal reasons. My goals continue to exist, with greater resolve, but now there is another, equally important reason to remedy the bug caught those many years ago: the ability to provide unbroken attention to clients and the capability to create best-of-class websites.
